Meditation Workshops

Meditation is a powerful technique for developing a peaceful mind and inner good qualities. The meditation workshops provide quality meditation with clear explanations of the skills required to create stillness within, but are shorter and lighter than our day courses.

A meditation workshop consists of two sessions that include guided meditations, explanation, and discussion. The emphasis is on practicing meditation and applying the experience we gain from it to improve the quality of our life.

Workshops are a perfect way to both relax and develop internally. They are ideal for those who are new to meditation and those who would like to improve.

Stop the Week

Switch off, slow down and leave the week behind.

Enjoy a relaxing evening of meditation, good food and good company at Buddha Land Kadampa Meditation Centre in Keighley.

Stop the Week begins with a short talk and guided meditation, giving you an opportunity to let go of the busyness of the week, settle the mind and experience greater inner peace. Afterwards, we sit down together for a delicious home-cooked vegetarian meal in our World Peace Café.

It’s a relaxed and friendly way to experience meditation, enjoy a meal and meet others. Everyone is welcome, whether you are completely new to meditation or have been coming to the Centre for some time.

Places need to be booked in advance as our meals are freshly prepared for the number attending. We can usually cater for special dietary requirements with advance notice, and group bookings are very welcome.

Day Courses

discussingDay courses are a wonderful opportunity to take some time out from the busyness of daily life, deepen your experience of meditation and explore Buddha’s practical teachings on how to develop a more peaceful and positive mind.

Each course focuses on a particular theme in greater depth than is possible during a weekly meditation class, with guided meditations, practical advice and time to explore how these teachings can help us deal with the challenges of everyday life.

Our courses are suitable for everyone, whether you are completely new to meditation or already have some experience. There is no need to be a Buddhist, and no previous knowledge is required.

Most of our day and half-day courses are taught by Gen Kelsang Päljin, a Buddhist monk and Resident Teacher of Buddha Land Kadampa Meditation Centre. We also regularly welcome guest teachers for special courses and events.

Guided Retreats

Retreats are an opportunity to take time out from the busyness of daily life and focus on meditation. By stepping back from our usual activities, we can develop a deep experience of inner peace and explore Buddha’s teachings in a relaxed and practical way.

During a retreat we simplify our usual activities, giving ourselves time and space to focus on meditation and spiritual practice. Guided retreats are suitable both for those new to meditation and those wishing to deepen their experience.
