Creating Inner Balance : the Practice of Equanimity
Half-Day Course
@ Burnley KBC
Saturday 1 Oct, 10am – 1pm
In this half day course we will focus on developing the experience of equanimity, a balanced mind free from strong attachment and aversion and having a warm and friendly feeling towards all living beings. Join us for these special teachings and guided meditations to find greater inner peace and to bring more harmony to our relationships.
Equanimity frees our mind from unbalanced attitudes such as anger, jealousy and fear; states of mind that disturb our inner peace. At present our mind is like a pendulum that swings back and forth between feeling close to some out of attachment and distant from others out of aversion; many times, this can be with the same person.
Equanimity is like gold because it cannot be disturbed by the appearances and actions of others.
Half Day Courses offer the opportunity to learn more about Buddhist teachings and meditations for developing peace of mind. They are ideal for those who are new to Buddhist meditation and those who would like to improve. Anyone can attend this meditation event; it is suitable for complete beginners and those with experience. Everyone is welcome.
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Café during the course.
The cost is £15 (£5 for Monthly Members and free for FP members).
