In Person @ Burnley KBC & Livestream
Saturday 13 November, 10am – 1pm
(available for 48 hours after on catch up)
When we experience life’s difficulties or are harmed by others it is tempting to blame the circumstances or other people. However, this will only add more negativity to what has already been created, and cause more suffering. Blaming ourself also doesn’t solve the problem. In this day course we will learn how to let go of blame and resentment, and how to take empowering responsibility for our emotions and how we feel.
We blame and criticize others because we don’t like suffering. But if we don’t like suffering, no good comes from wishing to harm others and creating disharmony; this is what interferes with our happiness. When we blame other people or situations we exaggerate the faults of the culprit and we make ourselves into the victim.
Buddha teaches us to go beyond blame by understanding and seeing what happened in such a way that it will allow us to genuinely let go, and move on, being enriched by the experience.
Our half day meditation courses are an ideal way to learn more about meditation and inner peace. They are designed for those who are new to meditation but also for those who would like to improve and deepen their understanding.
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the course.
The cost is £15 (£5 for Monthly Members and free for FP members).
This morning course will be taught by Gen Kelsang Päljin, the Resident Teacher of Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre and of Buddha Land Buddhist Centre, Keighley. He is a Buddhist monk with over 20 years’ experience of practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism.
